Sustainable, environmentally conscious, innovative - profine GmbH has reached another important milestone on its way to a greener future: the official commissioning of its new fleet of electric sideloaders at the Pirmasens site. The replacement of the 25 diesel sideloaders with 25 electric sideloaders underlines the company's commitment to sustainability and environmentally conscious action. The new electric additions to the BULMOR brand belong to the same series and each have a load capacity of six tons. In addition to a uniform appearance, this primarily ensures flexibility in use and enables efficient working. The introduction of the electric forklift trucks was a joint project with strong partners such as GRUMA, BULMOR and HOPPECKE, who made a decisive contribution to its success.
Clear commitment to sustainability
Reducing CO2 emissions, minimizing the ecological footprint and reducing the number of spare parts transports by using the same design - all these aspects played a role in the decision to purchase the new fleet of electric forklift trucks. Göksel Bozaga, Head of Logistics at profine, commented on this at the official commissioning ceremony:
In addition to the ecological benefits, converting the drive also has economic advantages. These include savings in energy and service costs as well as subsidies from the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA). Sustainable in-house transportation also helps to increase competitiveness.
Focus on health and safety
The new electric forklift trucks also score points when it comes to in-house safety and health protection. The changeover significantly reduces noise pollution for employees. In addition, odor nuisance and exhaust fumes from combustion engines as well as soot formation are eliminated, which leads to a significant improvement in working conditions and cleanliness in the company.
Competent partners & forward-looking signal
The new sideloaders are equipped with a platform width of 1,200 millimetres, pneumatic tyres, 3-point belts for increased safety, modern crash sensors and an electronic access concept. Two prototypes of the new electric sideloaders were already tested here in 2022 by profine GmbH employees, whose feedback was very positive. Thomas Jakowiak, Managing Director of BULMOR, is very pleased with the collaboration:
The GRUMA Group is responsible for the business relationship, thanks to whose expertise the right forklift truck was chosen for use at the profine plant. Stefan Fröhlich, Sales Manager Special Vehicles at GRUMA, emphasizes:
Another important partner is HOPPECKE Batterien, which supplied the appropriate batteries and char gers. A total of 62 trak | uplift air batteries (with integrated electrolyte circulation and a capacity of 80 V and 1,240 Ah) and 49 trak | charger HF char gers were installed. The cooperation and decision in favor of the electric drive was also met with approval and delight by Tim Kappe, Sales Manager Motive Power Region DACH:
