Sven Hannawald stacks up at GRUMA

After Susanne Rohrer, Dr. Christine Theiss and Dieter Thoma, Sven Hannawald is now also the happy owner of a forklift license from the GRUMA Academy. Read our article to find out how he did on the training course and what he needs the certificate for.

It's almost becoming a habit for celebrities to join forces at GRUMA . After radio presenter Susanne Rohrer, kickboxing world champion Dr. Christine Theiss and ski jumping legend Dieter Thoma, Germany's Sportsman of the Year 2002 finally paid a visit to Garching this year on a sunny Tuesday in September: Sven Hannawald. Hannwald, now 44, is a former German ski jumper, TV expert and management consultant. In 2002, he was the first athlete to win all four competitions of the Four Hills Tournament. He has a total of 18 World Cup victories to his name.
Hannawald is also competing for a good cause at this year's Linde Celebrity Stacker Cup in Aschaffenburg. To prepare for the event, he chose GRUMA. Hannawald was greeted by the head of the GRUMA Academy, Bernhard Moll, on the training ground in Garching in glorious weather.

He gave him a detailed introduction to the basics and dangers of the forklift and then showed him how to operate the electric forklift selected for training. Hannawald climbed onto the forklift and made the first rounds. He quickly understood and mastered the courses with high precision and speed.
With the words "Do I have to drive backwards?", however, small problems were revealed during the subsequent reversing, as the ski jumping legend was used to braking with his left foot due to the racing he did in his spare time and thus had a hard time with the forklift. With a little practice and further tips, however, driving backward soon worked out very well.

Hannawald soon completed the subsequent stacking exercises with pallets and water bottles placed on them flawlessly.

Finally, Hannawald was allowed to board an H80 diesel forklift, which he also mastered well. Like his colleague Thoma the year before, he seemed to have forklift driving in his blood. The visit ended with a short small talk and Hannawald was discharged home well prepared for the StaplerCup.
