The winner is determined
And first place goes to... Giuseppe Tamburino! The forklift truck driver from Sortimo International secured first place among numerous competitors in the GRUMA StaplerCup Challenge (#grumastaplercupchallenge) and thus participation in the German championship at Linde in Aschaffenburg. The Challenge was launched in 2021 on the occasion of the pandemic as a digital alternative to the traditional StaplerCup.
The task: "Move more together, show what you can do with your Linde forklift". The participants were asked to show in a short video what special skills they have in handling the forklift truck. The video then had to be published on the participants' social media channels. The winner this year was not the best, but the most creative forklift driver in the region. Participation was permitted both as an individual driver and as part of a team. In order to keep risky stunts and thus the risk of accidents as low as possible, the evaluation took into account not only creativity but also UVV compliance and possession of a valid forklift driver's license.
The GRUMA StaplerCup Challenge ran from mid-June to the end of August. The winner was subsequently determined based on the response in social media. The videos generated a total of 3705 impressions. Giuseppe Tamburino was clearly in the lead. In his almost 3-minute video, the forklift driver from Sortimo International showed a small sample of his skills. After first transporting weights in miniature format from one wooden beam to the next with a forklift model placed on his forks, he flicked one coin after the other onto his forks in the next scene. Finally, he stacked not one but four red boxes, each positioned on a wooden beam, on top of each other and placed them unerringly on a mesh box.
But the competition was also able to come up with numerous creative ideas. For example, Erwin Brummer, the German champion from the year 2019 / 2020, showed how to creatively open a beer bottle with a forklift and pour his after-work beer.
Giuseppe Tamburino now has the GRUMA Challenge Cup in his pocket. His next goal? Winning the German championship in Aschaffenburg. We wish our candidate good luck and success and look forward to the StaplerCup next year!
