Nothing is as important in intralogistics as efficiency. That's why more and more companies are turning to automated solutions to optimize their internal flow of goods. The autonomous vehicles are used primarily in applications where not only individual but also networked transport tasks have to be completed. The requirements for the devices: independent, fast and safe operation in real time as well as in interaction with other vehicles and people.

The new, autonomous, mobile transport robot Linde C-MATIC HP from Linde Material Handling (Linde MH) easily meets these requirements. The intelligent underride module navigates freely in space, actively avoids obstacles, communicates via the internet and can be used in a wide variety of places in the warehouse.

Compact, intelligent and modern

The autonomous robot is an interesting investment, especially for customers who want to consistently automate their transport logistics and rely on modern, intelligent automation solutions. Linde MH is working closely with its partner idealworks - an innovative portfolio provider in the field of automation - on the development and production of the device.

The Linde C-MATIC HP effortlessly lifts loads of up to one tonne and can accelerate to a top speed of 2.2 meters per second. Thanks to its compact height of just 222 millimetres, the AGV also has a very flat design, which proves beneficial when driving under and picking up pallets or transport racks with wheels. For navigation, the device uses SLAM technology by means of a pre-scanned map of the warehouse and the camera and scanner installed on the vehicle. Additional markers, magnets or QR codes are not required. In addition to the vehicle and the trolleys, the charging station is another component of the solution.

The Linde C-MATIC HP easily detects obstacles via its safety scanner. Based on the detected object, an alternative route is calculated at short notice. The advantage here: time savings and predictable processes.

Linde C Matic HP for the autonomous transportation of loads

The flexible load pick-up also achieves a further significant improvement in workflows, as the loads no longer have to be positioned at an exact right angle to the runway when being picked up. If the loads are slightly offset, the Linde C-MATIC HP aligns itself accordingly before it moves under the goods carrier.

The vehicles are implemented quickly and cost-effectively using the cloud-based AnyFleet control software. There, dialogs and a graphical editor can be used to set up the vehicles and define zones and rules of conduct. No complex programming is required, which makes initial setup and subsequent changes much easier. The cloud platform also supports the VDA 5050 interface standard, making it easy to combine the Linde C-MATIC HP with other vehicles.
