Whether in terms of ergonomics, visibility or energy efficiency, the current electric forklifts from Linde Material Handling (MH) have already been setting new standards since their market launch in 2021. It is therefore not surprising that the new Linde E25 to E35 EX electric for klift for ATEX zone 2/22 became an absolute crowd-puller at the Hazardous Goods/Hazardous Materials trade fair in Leipzig. This is because the fundamentally improved generation of Linde E25 to E35 counterbalanced trucks is now also available for the EX zone. Users will thus benefit from the advantages of both the standard trucks and the EX trucks. Initially, the trucks will be available for ATEX zone 2/22. Versions for zone 1/21 will then follow in the middle of the year.

The design of the chassis, cab and mast provides the user with an optimum view of the vehicle, load and working environment, which in turn is reflected in higher handling performance and greater operational safety. The operator also benefits from the optimized driver's workplace, which is significantly more spacious than on previous models. This is reflected, for example, in the greater headroom.

As EX-protected units, the new versions are of course specially equipped for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. For example, plastic trim, floor mats and tires as well as seat upholstery and an armrest made of dissipative material provide optimum protection against static charge. Furthermore, the front, rear and roof windshield wipers are also electric as standard for the first time for zone 1/21. Efficient motors ensure reduced energy consumption. Ex-specific, on the other hand, is the electronic temperature monitoring on the traction motors, which is linked to a safety warning and shutdown. In addition, all electronic controls, sensors, fuses and relays are centrally located in a flameproof control housing, which is integrated into the rear of the vehicle for easy servicing. For fast, convenient charging of the lead-acid battery, optional access is provided via the rear of the vehicle.

Comfortable, economical, safe and agile

No compromises have to be made in terms of operating convenience either. Important information, such as the time of the next maintenance, the battery charge level or the error codes can be conveniently read on a 3.5-inch TFT color display (standard for zone 2/22) or the generous 7-inch TFT color display (optional for zone 2/22, standard for zone 1/21). Safety-relevant values, such as the temperature of various components, are also monitored and a warning is shown on a separate display in the event of anomalies. The EX monitoring app also provides the driver with specific recommendations for action and enables predictive maintenance, as safety-critical wear parts are monitored and the customer is prompted at an early stage to schedule a service appointment. Greater comfort during travel is provided by the extensive decoupling of the driver's workplace from the drive unit and mast, as well as the use of an elastomer ring bearing for shock absorption on the front axle. This is particularly noticeable when driving over thresholds, guide rails or uneven ground in the form of a more pleasant driving experience, thus protecting the health of the operator.

Numerous optional assistance systems and lighting solutions are now also available in the EX version in many equipment variants. LED headlights, BlueSpot, LED Stripes and VertiLight, for example, can be ordered in non-sparkling versions or as sealed components. The same applies to assistance systems, such as Linde Load Assist, Safety Pilot, electronic seatbelt monitoring or Linde Safety Guard. In addition, the Linde fleet management solution Linde:connect with access control and electronic damage monitoring can be integrated. The data transmission unit fitted as standard makes the ex-trucks fit for digital logistics processes such as software updates.

On the safe side with explosion protection from Linde

With the new Linde E25 to E35 EX electric forklifts, customers also receive qualified customer service, a 24/7 supply of standard and ATEX spare parts, as well as the respective ATEX certificates and detailed operating manuals, in addition to individual vehicle configurations.
