To move the V modular, the driver must hold the sensor-monitored controls with both hands and simultaneously press the dead man's switch with their foot. This virtually eliminates operating errors and the risk of injury to the operator. In addition, the vehicle does not raise the cab any further from a height of 1.2 meters if the electrically monitored side barriers are not closed. The emergency lowering valve under the rear cover is easy to reach in a dangerous situation. The V modular can also be optionally equipped with various assistance systems: With the aisle safety assistant, driving and lifting stops can be defined to avoid collisions with the infrastructure. The mobile personal protection system (mobile PSA) monitors the route and stops the vehicle if people or obstacles are detected. The assistance system Linde System Control calculates the residual load capacity for the respective lifting height and warns the driver of imminent overloading. In wide aisle applications, the optional Red Warning Lines light system ensures that pedestrians and other vehicles keep a sufficient distance from the vehicle.

The wide cab entrance and low access height make it easier to enter the V modular, while the low parapet makes it easier to pick up and set down goods. A soft floor mat absorbs vibrations and prevents driver fatigue. The driver can work comfortably in the generously designed driver's cab. On request, a comfort cover is available on the mast side of the cab, which offers additional storage space, e.g. for waste garbage cans and wrapping film. The patented Ergo roll from Linde provides the driver with a place to lean on and relaxes his muscles. The control panel of the V modular can be mounted on the mast side, the load side or on both sides, depending on requirements. The driver can keep an eye on important parameters such as speed, lifting height, residual load capacity and steering angle via the color display. The display also shows information from optional systems such as the Linde warehouse navigation system. As an option, the vehicle can be equipped with tilt barriers that fold outwards slightly when the operator leans against them, making it easier to reach into the racking.

The V modular achieves reach heights of up to 14.5 meters and speeds of up to 13 km/h, which maximizes handling performance in high-bay warehouses. In addition, high lifting speeds and residual capacities as well as low energy consumption make the vehicle highly efficient. At the same time, a redesigned chassis and improved load arms guarantee greater stability and maximum maneuverability. Linde offers two triplex masts for the V modular: The standard version with free lift is particularly suitable for warehouses with structural restrictions, such as racking above the transfer aisle. The version without free lift enables faster lifting, as the speed does not have to be reduced when the mast passes over. In addition to the standard version with additional lift, the V modular is also available with a walk-on pallet: the forks are fixed to the vehicle and surrounded by a safety cage. The cab is open on the fork side so that the driver can enter the pallet for order picking. An innovative control concept ensures that all travel and mast movements flow smoothly into one another.

The drive and lift motor of the V modular are fully encapsulated. This means they are fully protected against dust and dirt and are virtually maintenance-free, which improves vehicle availability and drastically reduces cost-intensive downtimes. The entire design is optimized for ease of servicing: The central components are located behind a panel and are easily and quickly accessible for service technicians. The technician can easily read out and check all data on the service laptop via a CAN bus connection. To simplify fault analysis, all narrow-aisle devices from Linde have the same diagnostic connection.
